Customer’s Issue: A couple that had recently moved into their newly purchased home, experienced a “No Heat” situation and contacted our Service Department with the hope that the furnace could be quickly repaired. They knew the furnace was in bad shape when they bought the home, but were hoping they could make it through the winter. Unfortunately, their furnace quit working on a mid-January evening, when the outdoor temperature was in the single digits.
What We Found: Upon inspecting the furnace, especially after removing the access doors, we realized that this furnace was in very poor condition. The previous owner had not kept up with the maintenance of the heating cooling system. The drain on the air conditioning coil, located above the furnace, had plugged up quite some time ago, and water had overflowed into the furnace, for what appeared to be, years. Given the condition of the furnace, the only safe option was to replace the furnace.

Our Solution: Given the outdoor temperatures, our customer being in a “no heat” situation, and it being late in the evening, our Service Technicain made a call to one of our Comfort Consultants and they quickly worked up a proposal with the customer for a new, high efficiency gas furnace. The customer agreed to have the furnace replaced and we took the necessary measurements needed for the new ductwork and materials.
The following morning, our sheet metal shop custom built the necessary ductwork and our installation crew picked up the replacement furnace, all of the necessary materials, and returned to the customer’s home.
Our installation crew installed the new furnace and necessary ductwork, corrected the air conditioning coil drain problem and performed a complete start up and check out of the new furnace. We had the customer’s heat back on, that afternoon, less than 24 hrs from the time they had first contacted us.

The Finished Product: The couple now have peace of mind, knowing they have a professionally installed gas furnace, that is operating exactly as designed. They can also take comfort in knowing the new furnace is covered by a ten year parts warranty and a life time warranty on the heat exchanger.
Properly maintained, the new furnace will provide them with years of safe, reliable and worry free comfort. Our customer will also save money on their utility bill with the new, higher efficiency, gas furnace.
Our customer was very appreciative of our efforts in helping them get their heat back on so quickly and was equally impressed with the quality of our work, how clean we kept their home throughout the process and the professionalism of everyone they met from our company.
